I founded the Kepher Organization because of the lack of opportunities within the Black community. This lack of opportunity creates a “mental block,” causing members of our community to limit our potential, dreams, and capabilities to our surroundings. The purpose of the Kepher Organization is to not only learn about the past, but to have high expectations for the future. In doing this, we remove the mental stagnation that resides in our communities by helping our members learn and understand that they can accomplish whatever they put their mind to.
We do this by operating the organization like a community business. We take all of our members ideas and contributions very seriously, and as a group we decide the direction of the organization and by what means we will get there. The reason for doing this is so all of our members have the chance to have significant involvement in our planning and preparation, and members walk away from the organization with not just “volunteer-ship experience,” but with tangible life skills that will be extremely valuable for their success in their careers and future endeavors.

I joined The Kepher Organization to learn more about African American history and deepen my understanding of the cultural legacy, resilience, and contributions of the African American community. Additionally, I joined TKO for brotherhood and fellowship from fellow members who share a commitment to empowerment, excellence, and uplifting our communities. Being a part of this organization has taught me that leadership, unity, and service are essential in creating an impactful change in a community. Additionally, the Kepher Organization has helped me overcome my fear of public speaking by providing opportunities to recite speeches, lead discussions, and present ideas regarding cultural identity and community upliftment. These experiences not only helped me improve my communication skills but also my confidence in leadership positions. I see TKO as a beneficial program because it empowers young Black men and women to grow into leaders, scholars, and difference makers. Additionally, it provides a space where members can learn from one another and take active steps towards bettering ourselves and our community. Additionally, TKO helps to develop presentation skills and build confidence by encouraging members to speak publicly and share their perspectives in a supportive environment.
Today, I am currently a straight A college student who continues to apply the values and skills I developed through TKO in both academic and everyday life. The discipline, confidence, and sense of purpose I gained through this organization have played a major role in my success. TKO has not only helped me grow as a student and leader, but also inspired me to uplift others, give back to my community, and always strive for excellence. I am proud to be part of a program that celebrates our heritage, empowers future generations, and continues to shape me into the person I aspire to be.

I joined the Kepher Organization because I believe in the power of community and the importance of empowering Black individuals to reach their full potential. Being part of TKO gave me the opportunity to connect with others who share similar goals and values, and it was a space where I felt seen, supported, and inspired.
I see TKO as a benefit because it not only uplifts black individuals but also helps us grow together through mentorship, leadership opportunities, and meaningful conversations. It pushed me to be the best version of myself and encouraged me to pour into others the same way I’ve been poured into.
Today, I’m running a Bible study club at my school, where I create a safe space for students to explore their faith, grow spiritually, and find strength in Jesus especially during tough times. It’s a way for me to serve others and live out the values that both my faith and TKO have taught me.
